What Hope??

The whole world is degrading. Untold millions of lives wasting and wasted. Hundreds of thousands living in hurt and heartbreak. Families torn and shattered. Children sold like retail, treated as currency, used for sex. Babies murdered in their millions. 12 yrs olds encouraged to have “safe” sex. 14yr old mothers! paedophiles given only 5yrs in jail! Governments publicly abase! Integrity is tortured and mocked! Love is spat upon! … What hope do we have?

‘Christian’ men spending more time playing computer games than with their wives! Let alone with their God!! More sexual immorality in church that outside it! A church that cares nothing for the word of God! A church that knows nothing of Christ’s suffering and passion. A church that would crucify the son of God if He had come in this day and age! Complete disregard for God. Complete disregard for the Bible. A church more interested in membership than hellbound souls saved for Christ! A church more involved with “ministry” than sacrifice! A church that gives what it can afford! A church living in concern of mans opinion!! A church more concerned with entertainment and persuasion than undiluted truth!!

No hope! No real hope! No solid, consistent, unomvable hope! There is no glimpse of goodness. There is no real, solid, tangible life to hold to. The best they can offer is a wisp, a dream, a straw to clutch. They distract with gimmicks. They distract with new ideas, new entertainment, new visions…. But nothing changes. What is real in life? What is real life??

I look in my own life and see nothing but failure. I see pride, selfishness, anger, lust, greed and envy. I see hoplessness. What good can I do? What good can I be? Nothing can be done, nothing can be said. I feel so useless, I feel so powerless. My own life has nothing to offer. I am no inspiration or example. I have no plan of action or resources to back one.

Hebrews 12
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. He is hope. Beyond comprehension, beyond understanding, beyond description but He is hope! He is assurance. He is God.
