My God.

I’ve often wondered, if I was asked to preach, what would my message be? What would God put on my heart and how would He speak to me?

I’ve pictured myself on stage, behind the pulpit, looking out to the congregation with an awesome fear of the task before me. To think that God would use me as a vessel for Him. What a fearful an awesome position to be in. To be God’s voice to His people. I know that nothing I say will affect these people. I’m uneducated, unlearned in doctrine, I don’t have the life that Paul had or any of those biblical men. I fail and I’m foolish and full of pride. Who can possibly be stirred?

And so, with this mindset, feeling utterly useless and unlearned and foolish I simply start to tell them what I know…

My God is the one, true, living God! He is almighty, all powerful, all knowing. He is the creator God. There is none like Him or beside Him. He is the alpha and omega, He is the author and the finisher of our faith. He is my defender, my strong tower, my shelter, my shield, my buckler, my fortress, my strong tower, my Deliverer, my Redeemer, my Saviour. If God goes before me, none can stand against me! He has chosen me! He loves me. He died for me! He forgave me! He intercedes for me! His name is Yahweh. He lives within me. He longs for me. He waits for me. He delights in me. He leads me, He guides me. My God corrects me and chastens me. He gave me life. He raised my soul from the miry pit and set my feet upon the Rock. He is that Rock. He hides me in the cleft of the rock. He is my sure anchor. He is my strength, He is my hope. He is all my glory, He is all my life. He is the way, He is the truth, He is life!! He is life!!! My God threw the stars into space, He gave the sea it’s boundaries, He set the courses for the planets, He raised the mountains, formed the valleys. He spoke and there was light, He spoke and the storm called instantly! He speaks and Demons flee! Hallelujah!! There is no one like my God.

He alone satisfies my longing spirit. He alone is my contentment. He alone is my safety, my surety, my joy, my strength. He is my joy! He is my Joy!!! HAHA What a wonderful, precious Saviour! No one else could take my sin and darkness from me! No one else could give me life. He provides my every need! He is my good shepherd. Oh how He loves me! Oh how He loves me! Oh how He loves you and me!!

Oh friend! Do you not know my God! He is fearsome, He is terrible, He is ruler and Reigner of all. He alone commands the times and the seasons. He feeds every sparrow, He nurtures every plant! He know every hair on my head and yours! Oh friend!! Worship Him!! Worship Him!

Dear friend, do you not see that His very presence commands worship! Your very existence commands your lifes service and willing submission!! Let alone the work of atonement and the grace, the mercy the forgiveness that He lavishes upon us! Give Him all praise that you can muster, give Him all the glory! He made every man! No man is worthy of the praise! Only our Lord Jesus Christ. He is all and in all! Only in Him do we live and move and have our being! Give Him your life! Give Him your all! For He commands it!

But oh friend. The reward for such service, the reward for returning such unbounded love… is eternal! :) It is to be with God! It is to know God! It is the dwell and rule with Him for all eternity! Friend! Your sin is VILE!! Your own ways are wretched!! Only Christ is good! Only God can take your unholy, spiritually dead state and make it alive! Unless you completely die to the idea of pleasing yourself, you will be in eternal torment! You will be in eternal punishment! There is a way prepared for forgiveness and cleansing but if you do not take it. If you don not become a slave to Christ… You will surely perish.

That is all I know. There are many doctrines and teachings and thoughts of men that confuse and corrupt but I know, with all my heart, that only my God is worthy! Amen!
